What is a CCRIS report?

If you'd like to apply for any loan facility in Malaysia, please check your CCRIS report beforehand.

CCRIS (Central Credit Reference Information System) is a central system that caches information of your credit history which is referenced by all banks when assessing your credit risk. This report is owned and operated by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Borrowers can access their credit reports online via eCCRIS for free. Example of situations you may view in CCRIS system is late payment record. A late payment habit can have a negative effect on your CCRIS record. Additionally, you will also have a lower credit score that apparently reduces your chances of getting approved on your loan applications in the future.

According to Bank Negara Malaysia, following are the people, institutions or agencies that can access the report.

  1. Any individual borrower or company for their own credit report;
  2. Any individual for the credit report of their own business(es) i.e. sole proprietorship, partnership, or professional body;
  3. Financial institutions, upon any credit application and/or when reviewing credit standing of existing customers; and
  4. Credit Reporting Agencies approved by BNM and with consent from the borrower such as Credit Bureau Malaysia Sdn Bhd, CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd and Experian Information Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Please take note: If you’d like to apply for any loan facility in Malaysia, check your CCRIS report beforehand. It will give you factual ideas on how you can maintain your facilities accordingly. Happy checking !
